WR Malachi Dupree signs with LSU
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — One of the highest-rated high school receivers in the country has committed toLSU.
Malachi Dupree, who played for John Curtis Christian Academy in suburban New Orleans, says he "just felt it was right to stay home and play football for the state of Louisiana and try to bring a national championship back to the state."
At 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Dupree is rated the No. 2 receiver in the nation by the Scout and Rivals recruiting services.
Well-wishers at John Curtis cheered when Dupree made his announcement on national television. He joins an LSU recruiting class that includes Leonard Fournette of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, the nation's top-rated running back.
LSU also hoped to sign John Curtis linebacker Kenny Young, but he's chosen UCLA.
