Warrant issued for Thibodaux man in Larose armed robbery
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jiavante Davis, 21, of Thibodaux, for the armed robbery of a Larose bar on November 3.
At 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the bar room adjacent to the Go-Bears convenience store located at 12106 Highway 1 in Larose. Deputies learned two black male subjects entered the bar and demanded money. One of the subjects was armed with a handgun and pointed it at the bartender.
After obtaining cash from the bartender, the two immediately exited the bar and fled the scene in a small silver car. In addition to the bartender, there were several patrons present at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured.
Through investigation, detectives identified Jiavante Davis as one of the two suspects and obtained a warrant for his arrest for the charge of armed robbery. Davis has two other outstanding warrants for contempt of court stemming from traffic violations earlier this year.
Investigators are attempting to locate Davis, as well as the second suspect in the robbery.
