Volunteer income tax assistance program
The volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, personas with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
What to bring:
-Proof of identification (picture ID).
-Social security cards for you, spouse and all dependants or verification letter issued by the social security administration or food stamp office.
-Birth dates for everyone: month, date and year.
-A copy of last years tax return: federal and state.
-Wages and earning statement(s), form W-2, W-G, 1099R, 1099 Misc., 1099 bank interest and dividends, 1098T.
-Total paid for daycare provider and daycare providers tax identification number including address.
-A check stub (routing and account numbers) for direct deposit option.
Receive your refund in 7-10 days.
