Sadly, TR Hamblin, retired Coast Guard Officer and devoted father and husband, died in his home on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from a brain hemorrhage.
Thomas Rupert Hamblin, a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, retired from the Coast Guard after nearly 23 years of service. He spent the remainder of his career with Bollinger Shipyards, in Lockport, and had a hand in the construction of many of the boats in the Coast Guard fleet currently in commission. The influence of his work reaches across the globe.
He is survived by his wife, Daryle Hamblin; daughters Shanna Pomager, Kelly Hamblin, and Jennifer Hamblin; son-in-law Chris Pomager; and three grandchildren, Ayla, Coen, and Sebastian Pomager. He is also survived by his sister Dottie Hamblin.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributions to organizations that were near and dear to TR’s heart. He was a devoted supporter of his church community and of the US Coast Guard Foundation. Saint John's Episcopal Church Endowment
