Thibodaux man charged with 4 counts of 2nd-degree rape
A 25-year-old Thibodaux man is in the custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office on rape charges.
On January 5, investigators opened an investigation after a woman had gone to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center after reportedly being raped.
Through investigation, detectives earned that on several occasions over the past two weeks, Jose Nunez-Vasquez, 25, allegedly forced a woman to have sex against her will.
The woman was with the suspect during that entire period and said she didn't initially report the incidents out of fear of retaliation.
Following an investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Nunez-Vasquez's arrest.
Monday, he was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. He is charged with four counts of second-degree rape. He is being held without bail.
Due to the nature of the allegations, no further details will be released on this investigation.
