The Bayou Playhouse presents The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf, a fairy tale musical comedy by Bob Bruce and David Cuthbert, the Authors of last season's sell-out hit Cinderella Batistella, with music by Danny Rubio. This holiday “trial of the century” opens on Saturday November 30 and will run through Sunday December 22, 2013 at the Bayou Playhouse.
Local Sheriff "Spider" Web and Deputy Duffy have brought The Big Bad Wolf to justice for crimes against the residents of Once Upon A Time Fairy Tale Bayou. The case of B. B. Wolf vs. The 3 Three Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Little Bo Peep will be take place with the audience as the jury. A cast of local and professional actors playing Granny, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hoodlum, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and many other favorite fairy tale characters will sing and dance their way into the hearts of your whole family. Each musical number pays tributes to The Andrew Sisters, Cab Callaway, Al Jolson as well as styles that celebrate Gospel, Western, Vaudeville and many others genres.
"This will be one big Looney Tunes cartoon brought to the stage" said Director Perry Martin. "This is my opportunity to bring to the Playhouse everything I learned about comedy from my friend and mentor Mel Blanc (the voice of Bugs Bunny)."
The cast includes local actors Nichole Williams (Judge Judy), Brodrick Lyons (Deputy Duffy), Aggie Thibodaux, Sara Jane Goodrum, Anna Davaine (The 3 Little Pigs), Dru Collins (Little Red Riding Hood), Mary Ann Matherne (Granny Ma Ma), Jace Fanguy (The Boy who Cried Wolf), Orand Terrebonne, III (Peter Pan), Alyssia Hay (Wendy), Hailey Thibodaux (Little Bo Peep), Kayla Champagne (Alice in Wonderland), Taylor Champagne (The White Rabbit), and Ella Shaw (Little Miss Muffit). Joining the cast are professional actors Michael Whitener as Sheriff Web and Jacob Miller as B. B. Wolf.
The Bayou Playhouse is located at 101 Main Street in Lockport. The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf will open Saturday, November 30 and continue its run through Sunday, December 22. Tickets are $23 in advance online or $25 at the door. $12 for kids 12 and under and kids 5 and under can sit on their parent's lap for free.
