Teen shot and killed by Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s deputy
A Houma teenager was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. by a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's deputy.
State Police confirmed the 14-year old to be Cameron Tillman, a freshman at Ellender High School.
Police received a report of several people entering a home on the Kirkglen Loop in the Village East area of Houma.
According to State Police Troop C Spokesman Evan Harrell, the caller reported the sight as a robbery and noted at least one of the people entering the home to be armed.
Police did not indicate whether it was Tillman that was armed but did say a weapon was found in close proximity.
Three of the people in the house, two minors and one 18-year-old, were arrested. Harrell said charges are pending against the trio, but it's unclear what those might be as of Tuesday night.
Another teenager escaped the home and is being sought by investigators, Harrell said.
The name of the deputy involved has not been released. State Police are handling the investigation.
