Suspect identified and charged in aluminum theft at Larose business
Carl Savoy, 38, of Larose has been charged in an aluminum theft, which occurred last month at a marine transportation company in Cut Off.
Detectives identified Savoy as one of two suspects involved following the investigation.
Last month, the business owner discovered several pieces of aluminum valued at several thousand dollars missing from the property.
Upon reviewing surveillance video, detectives observed two male subjects arriving at the business at around noon on Saturday, November 7. The suspects placed multiple pieces of aluminum inside a vehicle and fled the scene.
Through investigation, detectives identified one of the subjects as Carl Savoy and obtained a warrant for felony theft.
Savoy was arrested on November 24 for outstanding warrants for contempt of court in both Lafourche and Terrebonne. He is being held without bond due to a parole violation and now faces the additional charge of felony theft in relation to this incident.
Detectives are still seeking the second subject involved in the theft.
