Student slashed at school in Jefferson
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies in Jefferson Parish say a 14-year-old student at Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School was slashed with a razor Thursday morning and a 15-year-old student was arrested in the case.
Jefferson Parish school system chief academic officer Michelle Blouin-Williams says the attack happened shortly before 9 a.m. The school was placed on lockdown for a time while deputies investigated.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where her injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Deputies say the victim was walking in a hallway when she was attacked by a female student who slashed her face.
Investigators say the alleged attacker was booked with aggravated battery.
