State police seek suspect in fatal hit-and-run in Terrebonne
HOUMA, La. (AP) — State police are searching for a suspect after a hit-and-run accident left a pedestrian dead in Terrebonne Parish.
A state police news release says 22-year-old William Boyne of Patterson was killed in the Friday night accident on Louisiana Highway 56, south of the Chauvin Bridge.
Investigators believe Boyne was walking north on the northbound shoulder of Highway 56. The suspect vehicle was traveling northbound, crossed the fog line, and struck Boyne.
The suspect vehicle was described as a green Ford F-150, possibly a model built in the late 1990's or early 2000's.
It likely has damage to the passenger-side headlight area and may have a metal “headache” rack covering the rear window.
Anyone with information pertaining to the suspect or suspect vehicle is asked to call the Louisiana State Police Troop C at 985-857-3680. Callers will remain anonymous.
