SLHS coach named LHSAA Cheerleader Coach of the Year
South Lafourche High School Varsity Cheerleader Coach Dana Gros has just been named Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2014 - 2015 Cheerleader Coach of the year.
Ms. Gros was nominated by South Lafourche Athletic Director, Brian Callais and South Lafourche Assistant Principal, Anne Robert. Ms. Robert also received input from some of the cheerleaders in regards to competitions and camps they attend throughout the year.
As stated in the nomination form, Ms. Gros demonstrates leadership to an infinite degree. Her pivotal role contributes to the effectiveness of our cheer squad and school. Her drive, willpower, dedication, integrity and values inspire all students and athletes to be successful. To Ms. Gros, failure is not an option.
Countless fundraisers and donations from the wonderful community of South Lafourche have allowed the cheerleaders to have their own cheer building. Over the years, her limitless innovative ideas has boosted her cheer squad and in return their school spirit has branched out to rest of the school and community.
Ms Gaye Cheramie, Principal of South Lafourche High School, announced the news to Ms. Gros on Wednesday. Ms. Gros will be honored at LHSAA banquet in upcoming weeks.
