Shooting victims in Raceland identified
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the victim of Friday morning’s shooting incident in Raceland has been identified as 33-year-old Chelsi Eschette.
Her husband, 32-year-old Josh Eschette, is the suspect in the shooting. He was airlifted from the scene to University Hospital in New Orleans in critical condition, having suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office initially received a phone call about the shooting at 9:52 a.m. this morning.
Deputies and detectives responded tothe residencein the 4100 block of LA 1 in Raceland and foundboth lying in the driveway.
Chelsi Eschette suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Josh Eschette suffered what appears to be a single gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
