Several Lafourche races decided

Voters yesterday elected a Lockport police chief, council members in the towns of Lockport and Golden Meadow, and a south Lafourche constable.

Craig Rogers and Edward "Coach Ed" Reinhardt will be in the Dec. 10 runoff for Lockport mayor.

For Lockport Police Chief, voters elected incumbent Warren Vedros.

In the Lockport Town Council races, voters elected Stephen Baudoin and "Rescue Wayne" Bourgeois. For Golden Meadow Town Council, voters elected Jody Cheramie, Willis Toups, Laci Bouziga Latiolais, Lindberg "Bap" Lorraine and Ashton "Nu" Cheramie.

For District 4 constable, voters elected Kenneth "Neco" Doucet of Galliano.

LOCKPORT MAYOR

According to complete but unofficial results, Democrat Reinhardt received 490 votes (49 percent) and Republican Rogers received 479 votes (48 percent). They edged out independent Gene Breaux, who received 35 votes (3 percent).

Of the town's 1,575 registered voters, 63.7 percent cast ballots.

LOCKPORT POLICE CHIEF

According to complete but unofficial results, Democrat Warren Vedros won with 612 votes (59 percent). He defeated Democrats Ernest Boudreaux, who received 363 votes (35 percent), and Hamilton "Buck" Guidroz, who received 56 votes (5 percent).

Of the town's 1,575 registered voters, 65.5 percent cast ballots.

LOCKPORT TOWN COUNCIL

Tuesday's results by division, according to complete but unofficial results, are:

Division A: Republican Baudoin won with 553 votes (57 percent). The retired banker defeated Republican Ralph Sapia, who received 421 votes (43 percent). In Division A, 61.8 percent of 1,575 voters cast ballots.

Division E: Republican Bourgeois won with 571 votes (56 percent). He defeated incumbent Democrat Weldon "Chunky" Triche, who received 440 votes (44 percent). In Division E, 64.2 percent of 1,575 voters cast ballots.

GOLDEN MEADOW TOWN COUNCIL

According to complete but unofficial results, voters elected the following top five vote-getters:

Incumbent Cheramie, who received 496 votes (12 percent).

Incumbent Toups, who received 485 votes (12 percent).


Latiolais, who received 449 votes (11 percent).

Incumbent Lorraine, who received 447 votes (11 percent).

Cheramie, who received 438 votes (11 percent).

They defeated the following:

Kip Plaisance, who received 399 votes (10 percent).

Craig Boudreaux, who received 359 votes (9 percent).


Troy Dufrene, who received 306 votes (8 percent).









Incumbent Priscilla Mounic, who received 272 votes (7 percent).

Chet Louviere, who received 241 votes (6 percent).

Edward "E.J." Verdin, who received 164 votes (4 percent).

Of the town's 1,372 registered voters, 59.1 percent cast ballots.

DISTRICT 4 CONSTABLE

According to complete but unofficial results, Democrat Doucet won with 3,730 votes (51 percent). The interim constable defeated Democrat Sullivan Cheramie, who received 3,626 votes (49 percent).

In District 4, 60.3 percent of 12,203 voters cast ballots.
