Senior citizens urged not to give personal information over phone
A scam targeting elderly residents in the Lafourche Parish area has been reported.
Clients of the Lafourche Council on Aging are receiving phone calls stating the person on the phone is from the Lafourche Council on Aging and will give them a $3,000 gift card for groceries and a medical alert button. The phony caller is asking for personal information from senior citizens.
The Lafourche Council on Aging, Inc. is not calling anyone. Please do not give out any information to anyone over the phone. If you receive such a phone call please report it to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
