Search committee named for Nicholls St president
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — University of Louisiana System board chairman Wayne Parker has named a 15-person search committee to help choose a new president for Nicholls State University.
On May 3, the committee will hold its first meeting and a public forum on the Thibodaux campus to learn what people want as qualifications for the new president.
Nicholls President Stephen T. Hulbert said last week that he will retire Aug. 1 after 10 years.
The committee's 10 voting members include nine members of the UL System Board and Nicholls Faculty Senate President Stephen Michot. Five advisory, non-voting members include businessman Donald T. "Boysie" Bollinger, a former Nicholls student government president and the chancellor of Fletcher Technical Community College.
A website is being developed to poste public information about the search.
