Ruby Arabie Ledet, 87, a native of Mathews and resident of Houma, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016. Visitation was held at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport on Saturday, February 20, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A memorial service was held Saturday at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m., burial followed in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Ledet, Sr.; children, Jane (Gary) Plaisance, Dina (Carroll) Theriot, Chris (Danny) Boquet, and Jack (Vera) Alloway; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; numerous step children; step grandchildren; step great great grandchildren, etc.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack Warren Alloway, Sidney Morvant and companion, Ralph Lirette; mother, Elesia Dufrene Arabie; father, Norris Ellis Arabie; brothers, Murphy and Norris “Frank” Arabie; sister, Nora Arabie Chiasson; daughter, Jackie Haydel; and great great grandchildren, Kyndal Paul LeBouef, Jr. and Kali Raè Smith.
She was also preceded in death by step-brother, Joseph “Joe” and wife Vernice Ayo; sisters-in-law, Earline Chauvin Arabie and Elise Lafont Arabie; brother-in-law, Abel Chiasson; and great grandson, Quinn Verdin.
Our deepest and sincerest apologies and sorrow for these omissions of family members.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dupont, Dr. Cinnater, Nancy Warren, Dr. Camille Pitre and staff, Dr. Michael Marcello and their staff, Broadway Elder Living and Rehabilitation also Chateau Terrebonne Health Care also Falgout Funeral Home for the care that was given to our mother. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be sent to the “Cancer Society”.
