ROY CHAMPAGNE, SR.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with military services at 9 a.m. for Roy A. Champagne, Sr., 81, a native and resident of Galliano, who passed away on November 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. service at the church with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.
He is survived by wife of 60 years, Sally Curole Champagne; son, Roy A. Champagne, Jr.; daughter, Mona Champagne; grandchild, Zac Cheramie; great grandchildren, Pierre and Hayden Cheramie; sisters, Peggy C. Toups and Janet C. Dugas.
He was preceded in death by parents, Madio and Agnes Terrebonne Champagne; brother, Herbert Champagne; sister, Dorothy “Dot” C. Martin.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, altar server, Acolyte of O.L.O.P.S., Eucharist Minister, member of the K of C Council #9000, American Legion Post #6259 and life member of the VFW.
