Rita B. Dantin, 90, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Lockport, passed away on Thursday, October 27. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30 at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off from 9 a.m. until service time. Service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Body to be cremated.
She is survived by son, Dudley Pierre Dantin, Jr. (Louise); step-son, Ebreaux Dardar, Jr.; step-daughter, Lydia Serigny; brother, Jack Billiot; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Dudley John Dantin; special friend, Ebreaux “Noc Joe” Dardar, Sr.; son, Nolan J. Dantin; daughters, Mary Ann Dantin and Judy Ann Dantin; parents, Alexander and Emma Billiot; step son, James Dardar, Michael Dardar and Stanbury Dardar; step daughter, Juliet Gaspard; brothers, Camielle Billiot, Marcell Billiot, Clovis Griffin, Sr., and Pierre Dantin; sisters, Edna Billiot, Elmire Billiot, Camellia Griffin, and Olivia Darda; grandchildren, Alexander Billiot and Chad Bruce; and great grandson, Jordan Bruce.
She was an avid church member.
