Randy Schouest announce candidacy for LPSBD 9
To the voters of Lafourche Parish, I, Randy Schouest would like to announce my candidacy for Lafourche Parish School Board District 9 in the upcoming election on November 6.
I have been married to Sandy Arabie Schouest of Mathews for 40 years and counting. We have three wonderful children – Seth Schouest, Jolie’ Schouest Johnson, Shea Schouest – and four beautiful grandchildren.
I recently retired from my 40-year career in the medical field, predominately working at St. Anne and Terrebonne General. My wife is retired as a center director/teacher for multiple Lafourche Parish Head Start locations.
I was born and raised in Raceland and have been a resident of Mathews for 38 years. I graduated from Central Lafourche High School in 1976 and Charity Hospital – School of Radiologic Technology in 1978.
Through my career, I was fortunate to gain experience in management, budgeting, cost containment, and information technology. I also handled conflict resolution between employees as well as between patients and employees. The skills learned during this time will allow me to soundly analyze and consider issues while considering the impact it will have on individuals as well as the community.
My primary goal is to always put our students, teachers and the public interest first. I will make myself available to listen to your questions and concerns. I am in support of the reduction of school board members from 15 to 9. I will give a portion of my salary towards a local scholarship.
Please consider voting for me on November 6.
I also encourage you to download the app “GeauxVote” on your smart phone, as it is a useful resource in keeping up with local, parish, and state elections.
I look forward to meeting you and serving you.
