Raceland woman charged with second degree robbery
Shortly after 4:15 p.m. on Monday, September 21, a man exited a discount store on LA Highway 1 in Raceland when he was approached by individuals, one of whom was identified as Rochell Hodges, 33, of Raceland, who asked him for gas money.
The man pulled out some cash from his pocket, but as he proceeded to hand over $20, Hodges allegedly grabbed the entire stack of money, and attempted to flee in a vehicle. When the man reached into the vehicle attempting to get his money back, Hodges allegedly sprayed him with a personal defense spray.
Deputies made contact with Hodges and questioned her about the incident. Following their investigation, deputies placed Hodges under arrest. She was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on the charge of second degree robbery. She is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
