Raceland woman arrested for outstanding warrants
While on patrol on LA Hwy. 1 in Raceland on Thursday evening, June 6th, deputies noticed Jennifer Joseph, 42, of 160 Brocato Lane in Raceland. Deputies knew her to have active warrants for her arrest totaling over $50,000.
As deputies turned the patrol unit around and activated emergency lights, Joseph tried to flee on foot. Deputies exited the patrol unit and were able to apprehend her.
Joseph was arrested and transported to the Detention Center where she was booked with resisting an officer and as per three active warrants for contempt of court.
She is currently being held in lieu of $65,000 bond as set by warrants and by Judge Lanier.
The warrants stemmed from Joseph’s failure to appear in court on May 23, 2013, in reference to drug and theft charges from 2012. Her criminal history includes 31 prior arrests for a myriad of charges including multiple counts of battery, theft and resisting an officer, as well as several drug charges.
