Qualifying begins this week for October 24 primary election

BATON ROUGE, La. — Qualifying for the Gubernatorial Elections begins this Tuesday, Sept. 8th and runs through Thursday, Sept. 10th at 4:30 p.m.

All candidates for legislative, parish and municipal races will qualify with their parish Clerk of Court. Lafourche Parish offices are located at 303 W. Third St. in Thibodaux and in Galliano at 16241 E. Main, Hwy. 308.

All candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer, Commissioner of Agriculture, Commissioner of Insurance and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) will qualify at the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office located at 8585 Archives Ave. in Baton Rouge.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily.

Once qualified, candidate information will appear on the Secretary of State’s website in real-time under “Elections & Voting,” “Get Election Information,” “Search for Candidates”.

The Gubernatorial Primary Election will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24th, and the General Election will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21st.

The last day to register to vote is Sept. 23.

Early voting begins October 10 and runs through Oct. 17.
