Public's help sought in residential burglary case
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for a residential burglary in Gray.
On an afternoon in late December, deputies began investigating a suspected burglary after a safe belonging to residents of Blue Ridge Drive in Gray was found several streets over. The safe's owners were on vacation, but deputies found no signs of forced entry at the time.
Upon returning to their home, the residents also found that a laptop computer, a gas card, and other items were missing. Through investigation, deputies learned the gas card had been used at a Bayou Blue convenience store on December 29, and were able to obtain a surveillance photo of a male subject who used the card.
Investigators are asking for your help in solving this crime. Anyone who can identify the male subject in the surveillance photo, or anyone with any information on this case, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or by texting "GIVEATIP" plus your message to 274637. Tips can also be submitted using the TipSubmit Mobile application or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org.
Tipsters will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.
