Public’s help sought in Raceland arson investigation
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for setting fire to a residence in Raceland early Wednesday morning.
At around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, deputies and firefighters responded to a fire at a residential trailer in the 300 block of Brocato Lane in Raceland. Investigators with the Office of the State Fire Marshal also responded to the scene due to arson possibly being the cause of the fire. Five people were inside the trailer when it caught fire, and one of them initially used a fire extinguisher on the fire on the exterior of the trailer.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help to solve this crime. Tipsters will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.
