Police recover just over $39,000 in high-grade illegal narcotics

Thibodaux department arrested Kaleb Bruce, 21, of 1201 North Bayou Drive in Golden Meadow for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, driver not licensed, and a Terrebonne warrant for telecommunication harassment.

On Wednesday, November 4th, at approximately 9:55 p.m., a Thibodaux Police K9 Officer witnessed a red Chevrolet Silverado, later learned to be driven by Kaleb Bruce, swerve off of the roadway on St. Patrick Street near North 7th Street and then quickly brake before activating a turn signal.

The vehicle was stopped by police in a gas station parking lot just off of St. Patrick. When Bruce opened the door, a strong smell of suspected raw marijuana could be smelled.

Through further investigation, police recovered nearly 2000 grams of suspected high grade marijuana with a street value of just over $39,000 and a digital scale with suspected marijuana residue on it. Officers also learned that Kaleb Bruce had a warrant from Terrebonne Parish. Kaleb Bruce was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
