Mae Hartman Duet, born July 7, 1917, will be honored and celebrated Sunday for reaching her 100th birthday, at the Broadway Elder Living center in Lockport.
Mae was born in Lockport to the late Aleda (Barbier) Hartman and Alcide Hartman and has resided in Lafourche Parish her entire life.
She is of the Catholic religion and was a member of Our Lady Prompt Succor Catholic Church when she later in life moved to Golden Meadow. She was a caretaker at Lady of the Sea Hospital in the nursery. She loved cooking wild duck and celebrating Christmas, her favorite holiday.
She loved getting her hair done, dancing and gardening.
Mae was the wife of the late Leonce Orgeron. The couple had two beautiful sons from that union, Darryl and Richard. She has 6 grandchildren: Roddy, Toddy, Daralyn, Ricky, Phillip, and Ann, and 9 great-grandchildren: Rhett, Cloe, Adam, Sophia, Ryan, Ethan, Natalie, Mason, and Hudson. She has a family of 3 generations. After becoming widowed, she later in life married the late Cleophas Duet.
This Sunday at 2:00 p.m. the Broadway will honor Ms. Mae with musical entertainment provided by Gary T.
