Pedestrian dies after being struck
Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday evening, a pedestrian was struck and killed as she crossed LA 657 in Larose.
The investigation revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on LA 657 approaching LA 1.
As the truck, driven by Jace Griffin, 26, of Galliano, traveled east on LA 657, a pedestrian walked out into the path of the vehicle. The Silverado was unable to avoid the pedestrian in time and struck the woman who was later identified as Joann Preston, age 55, of Larose.
