Other Council action of Jan. 23 meeting

Other Council action taken (all votes unanimous except where noted) at the public meeting held on Tuesday, January 23 include:

-- Heard a presentation by Mr. David Camardelle, Mayor of Grand Isle, about an upcoming rock project along the north side of Bayou Thunder near Grand Isle

-- Passed an ordinance requiring all parish vehicles to display the Lafourche Parish Government logo and phone number

-- Approved the holding of an election in Fire Protection District No. 3 to authorize the levy of a special tax

-- Approved a Supplemental Appropriation to adjust year end balances from the 2017 Operations and Maintenance Budget

-- Failed to approve a cash sale for adjudicated property. Vote was Lorraine, Perrillioux, Autin, Gros in favor. Jones and Sposito against. Lafont abstaining.

-- Failed to approve an Intergovernmental agreement with the Greater Lafourche Port commission for lack of “second”

-- Failed to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Lafourche Parish Water District for lack of “second”

-- Passed a resolution approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Parish and the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District for the Dugas Canal Pump Station and Drainage Infrastructure Improvements Project

-- Accepted the low bid of All Star Electric, Inc., for $272,550 for street light maintenance and repair

-- Moved to dispense with the February 13, 2018 Council public meeting

-- Heard a report from Reggie Bagala, Legislative Internal Auditor

Aaron “Bo” Melvin and James Bourgeois were absent.
