Other Council action from February 27 meeting

Lafourche Parish Council Action taken at the public meeting held on Tuesday, February 27, include (all votes unanimous except where noted; Lafont absent):

-- Passed a resolution removing Albert Guidry from the board of Drainage District No. 1 by vote of 5-2. (Lorraine and Jones nay, Bourgeois abstained)

-- Passed an ordinance providing for additional funding for the elevation of eleven properties under the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program 2017

-- Proposed ordinances requiring certain Parish Directors to present periodic reports and participate in question and answer sessions before the Council

-- Proposed ordinances approving servitude agreements between the Parish and the Greater Lafourche Port Commission and the Lafourche Parish Water District for the Airport Access Corridor LA Hwy 308 Turn Lane/Airport Access Road

-- Passed a resolution requesting the District Attorney to render an opinion as to the impact of rescinding Ordinances 5781, 5782 and 5999, which created the parishwide recreation district

-- Passed a resolution requesting Jerome “Dee” Richard to move forward in the 2018 State Legislative Session requesting authority of Sales Tax District No. 4 (Solid Waste), subject to voter approval, to levy a sales and use tax not to exceed three-tenths percent (Sposito and Melvin voted nay)

-- Passed a resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the Parish and the State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to accept the grant for the project entitled East Side Drainage Improvements
