In other action from the Tuesday, December 11 Lafourche Parish Council public meeting (all votes unanimous except where noted):

-- Overrode 8 of 10 amendments to the 2019 Operations and Maintenance and Capital Budget that were vetoed by Parish President Jimmy Cantrelle on December 6, 2018 including:

1) providing funding for the Waverly Subdivision Pump Project (Gros voted nay, Autin and Jaccuzzo absent);

2) providing funding for a proposed bath facility center at the Raceland Recreation Center (Gros voted nay, Autin and Jaccuzzo absent);

3) providing additional funding for the proposed Chackbay Community Center (Autin and Jaccuzzo absent);

4) providing additional funding for the proposed Bayou Boeuf Ballpark Restrooms Project (Autin absent);

5) providing funding for improvements and maintenance for District 2 boat launches (Autin absent);

6) providing funding for the Golden Meadow Seawall Project (Gros voted nay);

7) providing funding for the City of Thibodaux for recreation activities (Sposito abstained);

8) providing funding for Sugar Mill Side Road Repair and Improvements Project (Sposito and Gros voted nay)

-- Failed to override 2 amendments to the 2019 Operations and Maintenance and Capital Budget that were vetoed by Parish President Jimmy Cantrelle on December 6, 2018 including:

1) failed to override providing funding for improvements and maintenance to the Thibodaux Courthouse (Perrillioux abstained);

2) failed to override the renaming of Capital Budget Fund 14011—Concrete Drain Ditch Country Club to “Crossing North Drainage Improvements”;

-- Accepted the minutes of the July 24, 2018 regular meeting and deferred 11 subsequent sets of meeting minutes until January 8, 2019

-- Heard a report from Kimberly Rister, Interim Facility Administrator with the Juvenile Justice Commission

-- Passed an ordinance to de-obligate remaining funds in the completed LA Highway 308 Road and Drainage Improvements Project and return them to the unallocated dollars in the Gustav/Ike DCBG Budget (Lorraine voted nay)

-- Passed a resolution amending Resolution 18-298 which appointed one member to the Fire Protection District No. 3 Board to correct the dates of appointment

-- Passed a resolution providing for canvassing of returns and declaring results of the special election held in Sales Tax District No. 4 on November 6, 2018

-- Passed a resolution approving a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the parish and Water District No. 1 to upgrade and install new 8-inch waterlines along East 44th Street in Cut Off

-- Passed a resolution accepting the low quote of Green Scapes of Louisiana, Inc. for contractor services related to Nuisance Abatement in the parish

-- Appointed Quentin Fontenot to the Coastal Zone Management Advisory committee

-- Appointed Betsy Smith to the Library Board of Control

-- Voted 4-5 on a resolution approving Rodney Doucet as Parish Administrator (Gros, Sposito, Melvin, Perrillioux and Lafont voted nay)

-- Approved a resolution approving Amendment No. 2 to the application for funding for the CDBG Gustav/Ike Lockport Community and Recreation Center Project for an additional $110,555 (Melvin absent)

-- Approved a resolution approving Amendment No. 8 to the contract between the parish and CorrectHealth Lafourche, LLC for comprehensive inmate health care services at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center (Melvin absent)

-- Heard a monthly report from the Department of Public Works on projects in the parish.
