Officials announce plans for air-conditioned rodeo tent and King of the Catch Cook-Off

Officials announce plans for air-conditioned rodeo tent and King of the Catch Cook-Off

Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo officials announced plans for the 2015 rodeo, including the addition of an air-conditioned tent and plans for this year’s King of the Catch Cook-off.

This year’s Rodeo Admiral Eddie Callais said cold air is something to get excited about in south Louisiana, especially when the heat of summer is upon us.

“This is a family-friendly event, and for the first time ever, families can enjoy the festivities inside an air-conditioned tent,” said Callais. “I encourage everyone to come out to the rodeo for great music, food, and drinks while enjoying our local sportsman’s paradise – all under the rodeo’s new air-conditioned tent.”

Callais thanked Louisiana CAT for providing generator power and air conditioners for the rodeo tent, along with all the 2015 sponsors for helping to make this year’s rodeo successful.

Additionally, rodeo officials announced registration is now open for the King of the Catch Cook-off held annually in conjunction with the Tarpon Rodeo. The cook-off will take place beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3 with the judging beginning at 4 p.m. under the tent. Officials said there are a limited number of spots in the cook-off, so anyone interested is urged to register as soon as possible. Every team will receive two aprons featuring the new rodeo logo. Prizes include trophies, $500 gift certificates for Kief Hardware & Outdoors in Cut Off, and bragging rights, of course!

The weigh scales for the 67th Annual Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo will be open Friday and Saturday, July 3 and 4. Live music, food and drinks will be available under the air-conditioned tent.
