Nicholls St. seeks turnaround in 2013

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Nicholls State hopes the return of 22 starters and a quarterback with a famousLouisiana name will lead to a reversal of fortune.

The Colonels have not won a league game since 2010. They'll be without quarterback Landry Klann, who had season-ending shoulder surgery, but could be led instead by Beaux Hebert, son of former New Orleans Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert.

Two-time All-Conference tight end Nick Scelfo and former All-Conference running back Marcus Washington lead the offense.

The defense, which allowed 38.7 points per game, welcomes back all four starters in the secondary.

The Colonels defensive line needs to improve dramatically after finishing with 11 sacks and allowing 192.6 rushing yards per game last season.

Predicted finish: Eighth in the Southland Conference
