Nicholls Commencement Scheduled For May 16
Nicholls State University will award more than 700 degrees during its spring commencement Saturday, May 16 in Stopher Gymnasium on the Thibodaux campus.
Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. for College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and College of Nursing and Allied Health graduates and at 2 p.m. for College of Business Administration and University College graduates.
The keynote address will be delivered by Nicholls President Bruce T. Murphy, who has led the university since January 2014.
Before joining the Nicholls family, Murphy served eight years as vice president for academic affairs at Air University in Montgomery, Alabama. He was also founding dean of the School of Business at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has directed and instructed numerous educational and leadership programs across the country. A retired lieutenant colonel, Murphy served 23 years in the U.S. Army.
