New Orleans man charged in 1-year-old daughter's death
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A 19-year-old New Orleans man is facing a murder charge in the death of his 1-year-old daughter, who he said had fallen in a bathtub.
Citing arrest records, news outlets report that Kaylon Green was booked on second-degree murder on Tuesday following the Friday death of Dianna Reeves in New Orleans' Gentilly neighborhood.
Green says he was giving her a bath when she fell and hit her head, but preliminary findings from the coroner's office show Reeves died from "cardiovascular collapse, secondary to acute blunt force trauma."
Investigators say the baby had signs of abuse including burn marks, trauma to her genitals and bite marks on her cheeks, back and arm. Green told a detective that the bite marks came from a previous incident involving the girl's mother.
