New country music festival coming to Louisiana in October

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana is getting a new country music festival this fall.

More than 25 artists will perform across multiple stages Oct. 7-8 at the inaugural Flambeau Fest, to be held in Gonzales at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center.

The Advocate reports the announcement was made Wednesday by Mark Miller of Pi Entertainment, the group putting on the festival, which also will include classic rock music.

"We will have some of the hottest country acts in the nation, as well as some of the most burning, emerging country artists out there," Miller said.

Organizers are hoping to lure crowds of music lovers who used to come to Baton Rouge for Bayou Country Superfest, before the festival moved to New Orleans this year.

Headliners for Flambeau Fest will be announced Monday, as tickets go on sale.

Early-bird, pre-sale two-day general admission tickets are $119. General admission two-day tickets are $149. VIP tickets start at $319.

More information will be available on the festival website.
