Montegut teen killed in Terrebonne Parish crash
BOURG, La. (AP) — Authorities say a Montegut teenager was killed in Bourg after being ejected from his truck.
State police say 19-year-old Austin Neil was driving north on Lower Country Drive shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a right curve and went off the left side of the road.
Trooper Evan Harrell says Neil's Ford Sport Trac hit a guardrail before traveling across the roadway to the right and rolling several times.
Harrell says Neil, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office.
Police said the truck's three passengers, who were also not wearing seat belts, received minor injuries.
