Montegut man arrested for workers’ comp fraud
BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry announced that Corbert Rodrigue, 43, of Montegut, was arrested by his General Investigations Unit for Workers’ Compensation Fraud exceeding $100,000.
Rodrigue was arrested on one count of theft exceeding $25,000 and one count of misrepresentation concerning benefit payments.
Rodrigue allegedly advised his employer that he had been injured on the job site when he bent over and could not get up. After a joint investigation between Landry’s General Investigations Unit and the Louisiana Workforce Commission Fraud Unit, it was learned that Rodrigue was actually injured at home in previous weeks and not on the job site.
Rodrigue was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Jail.
