Marvin Adam Bourgeois, 76 a native of Raceland and resident of Metairie, passed away on February 27, 2017. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2402 33rd Street, Kenner on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation was at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment was in St. Mary’s Nativity Church Cemetery, Raceland.
He was survived by his daughter, Margaret Bourgeois; son, Temple Bourgeois (wife, Tish); granddaughters, Adaline Bourgeois, Abigail Cantrelle, Isabel Cantrelle and Hallie Cantrelle; grandson, Jude Cantrelle, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Leroy Larousse; niece, Lisa Duplantis and her family; and cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Benoit Bourgeois; parents, Adam and Louise Crochet Bourgeois; and brother Melvin Bourgeois.
He was a parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church of Kenner. He loved his grand kids especially his little Queenie/Buddy he had her spoiled. He looked forward to his morning coffee visits with friends. He loved spending time helping at the local food banks. He always greeted people with a smile and treated everyone with kindness. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked at Nationals for over 30 years. He retired from Wal-Mart after 19 years. He loved his family.
