Man arrested, accused of sex with missing New Orleans girl
TERRYTOWN, La. (AP) — Authorities say a man tracked to a hotel where he was with a runaway 14-year-old girl remains jailed on accusations of sexual contact with the teen.
The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/2r2beHu ) 34-year-old Malcom Baker was booked Monday on three counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato says Baker was at a Terrytown hotel with the girl reported missing from New Orleans.
Fortunato says a tip led investigators to the hotel. An arrest report says the girl told authorities she'd been with the man several days and had consensual sex with him on several occasions. Fortunato says Baker acknowledged bringing her to the room but denied they had sex.
Baker remained jailed Thursday on a $30,000 bond. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
