Major roadwork project on N.J. Theriot Road is scheduled to begin late January
According to the Port Fourchon Harbor Police, a major roadwork project on N.J. Theriot Road is scheduled to begin January 29.
The Greater Lafourche Port Commission is issuing an advance construction notice in an effort to help Port Fourchon users plan and prepare for upcoming road construction on one of the port’s busiest roadways.
The project’s improvements include the elevation of the road, drainage upgrades, shoulder enhancements and asphalt paving.
Barriere Construction expects to complete the work by May 29.
Officials with the Port Fourchon Harbor Police and Greater Lafourche Port Commission are telling all those using this roadway to expect travel delays and intermittent lane closures from January 29 through May 29.
During lane closures, the flow of traffic will be controlled by flaggers stationed at roadside construction sites as well as the Port Fourchon Harbor Police.
