Lots of events planned this month at your local library

Library volunteers can enjoy coffee and donuts at the Raceland Branch Library, 177 Recreation Drive, on April 11, while supplies last, to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Day.

Want to volunteer at the library or do service hours for school? Visit the Golden Meadow Branch Library, 1403 N. Bayou Drive, at 4 p.m. on April 13 to learn more. Refreshments served.

Library volunteers and would-be volunteers are invited to a volunteer social at 10 a.m. on April 14 at the South Lafourche Library, 16241 E. Main Street, in Cut Off. Refreshments will be served.

Several branches will host open houses during National Library Week, April 13 to April 19, to showcase library offerings. Learn more about your library branch, enjoy refreshments, and more.

Larose Library, 305 E. Fifth Street: Enjoy refreshments and learn more about your library and volunteer opportunities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 13 at the National Library and Volunteer Week Open House.

Raceland Library: Drop by to learn more about your library, enjoy refreshments, and have a chance at winning door prizes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 13 in celebration of National Library Week.

Golden Meadow Library: Join a tour and its Historical Center throughout the day on April 14 during the library’s National Library Week Open House. Refreshments served.

Children of all ages can submit original poetry to enter the Larose Library’s Children’s Poetry Contest from April 1 through April 27. Three winners will be selected to win prizes and have their entries displayed in the library.

Drop by for a free blood pressure check and more when staff from Lady of the Sea General Hospital’s Learning Center visits the South Lafourche Library at 11 a.m. on April 8.

It’s the annual Photography Contest Awards ceremony at the Lockport Library at 4 p.m. on April 13 to announce the winners of this year’s contest.

Learn line dances or practice old favorites at 2 p.m. on April 14 and April 28 at the South Lafourche Branch Library, 16241 E. Main Street, in Cut Off.

Celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree behind the Raceland Library at 5 p.m. on April 28. Decorate flowerpots and plant seedlings.

The Lockport Branch Library will host its Youth Art Awards ceremony at 2 p.m. on April 30 to announce the winners of its Youth Art Contest in March.
