LOS employees grateful for tax support

LOS employees grateful for tax support

Dear 10th Ward Community Members,

A sincere thank you from all of us employed here at Lady of the Sea General Hospital and Clinics for the faith and support you showed us in the ad valorem tax vote that took place on May 4, 2013.

The community of South Lafourche has always been forward-thinking in voting for services that are necessary to keep our community intact. Strong support for our levees, our schools and healthcare has always been seen as what’s best for a community to thrive. As the primary provider of healthcare in the 10th ward, we do not take our role lightly.

The addition of .2 mills will be used to build a family medicine clinic and 340-B pharmacy that will continue to give back to the community in discounted drug costs for those prescriptions that qualify for our patients. Over the past 10 years, we have focused on upgrading all of our equipment to the best that is offered on the market today. Now, we turn our attention to making sure our buildings and grounds are in the best possible condition. In addition to the remodeling that is already in progress on our medical/surgical unit, the updates to our facility allow us to focus on quality healthcare continuing to be available right here in South Lafourche.

As always, though, it is the staff that we employ that makes the biggest difference in the level of healthcare we can deliver. With the support of our staff on the millage increase, we were able to once again be successful in moving forward with our vision for Lady of the Sea in the near future. Thank you to everyone who went out and supported us. We value the trust you placed in us, and will uphold our promise to provide high quality health care in a personalized manner to those we serve, the people of South Lafourche.

Sincerely,

John D. Werner, Jr.
