Lockport Pedestrian Arrested With Crack Cocaine
Lockport Chief of Police Warren Vedros reported the arrest of a Lockport man who was found in possession of crack cocaine. Officers arrested Chris Lasserre, 39, of 508 Barrilleaux Street in Lockport on Sunday, October 19.
At around 7:30 p.m. officers traveling on Barrilleaux Street spotted Lasserre walking along the roadside and made contact with him. Officers noticed him to be acting nervously and asked whether he had anything illegal on his person. Lasserre told the officers he did not and emptied his pockets revealing a pack of cigarettes. Lasserre agreed to allow officers to look inside the cigarette pack where they discovered two small portions of a white, rock-like substance suspected to be crack cocaine, which Lasserre later admitted to having purchased.
Lasserre was placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with possession of crack cocaine.
He is currently being held in lieu of $1,000 bond as set by Judge Jerome J. Barbera III, and he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
