Local girl chosen to participate in PBS talent search
Ten-year-old Raceland resident Emma Lodrigue was chosen recently to be a part of a new PBS talent search called Celebration of Music which showcases and celebrates the best young musical talent in America today.
Emma was chosen as a contestant in the Baton Rouge-Hammond show that will take place on August 25 in Baton Rouge.
Two winners will be chosen from this show and will go on to compete against other winners from across the nation at a televised event in Los Angeles, CA.
There are two ways to win at the August concert:
1) By votes - You can vote for Emma once per email address, or if attending the concert, voting for her is worth 10 votes.
2) By Producer’s Choice - The producers of the show will judge and pick a winner the night of the concert.
To vote, visit https://celebrationofmusic.com/hammond-baton-rouge-la-2019.
It will connect you to the contestant site where you can select her concert city (Hammond/Baton Rouge) and see her voting page, bio and performance video, and allow you to cast a vote for her. If the show sells out, it will be live streamed.
Emma is a fifth-grader at Holy Savior Catholic School in Lockport, and lives in Raceland with her mom, dad and my 17-year-old brother, Hayden.
“I have always loved singing and performing in front of people. When I was little, I would always sing in our living room with my brother playing guitar. I’m thankful to God for blessing me with my talents and my love of music. I hope that one day I can sing professionally and maybe even perform on Broadway,” said Emma.
