The fifth annual Sports Medicine Center of Thibodaux Regional Bayou vs. River All Star Basketball Shootout will be played at Thibodaux High School on Saturday, April 9. The evening will kick off with a dunk and 3 point shooting competition at 5:30 p.m. followed by the game at 6 p.m.

The Thibodaux Lions Club will present the game.

The all-star game pits talented prep athletes from South Lafourche, Central Lafourche, H.L Bourgeois, Ellender, Covenant Christian, Thibodaux, E.D. White, Terrebonne, Houma Christian, and Vandebilt representing the Bayou Team, while the River Region’s squad consists of standout high school athletes from Destrehan, East St. John, St. James, Hahnville, St. Charles Catholic, West St. John, Lutcher, Assumption and Riverside.

Derek Szush, Terrebonne High Head Coach, will lead the Bayou team, while Lutcher Head Coach Chase Delrie will lead the River team.

Tickets for the game cost $5 and can be purchased at the gate. All Biddy Basketball players and Recreation League basketball players wearing league shirts will be admitted free into the event. All of the proceeds go to college scholarships and to Thibodaux Lion’s Club causes such as the Louisiana Lions Camp and Eye Foundation.
