Local athletes to compete in Thibodaux Regional’s All-Star basketball game
The fourth annual Sports Medicine Center of Thibodaux Regional’s Bayou vs. River All-Star basketball shootout will be played at Thibodaux High School on Saturday, March 28. The evening will kick off with the girl’s all-stars tipping off at 4:30 p.m. followed by the dunk and three-point shooting competition at 6 p.m. followed by the boy’s game at 7 p.m. The Thibodaux Lions Club will present the game.
The all-star game pits talented prep athletes from H.L Bourgeois, Ellender, South Lafourche, South Terrebonne, Covenant Christian, Thibodaux, Central Lafourche, E.D. White, Terrebonne, Houma Christian and Vandebilt representing the Bayou Team, while the River Region’s squad consists of standout high school athletes from Destrehan, East St. John, St. James, Hahnville, St. Charles, West St. John, Lutcher, Assumption and Riverside.
Local athletes competing in the game include Quade Williams, Jarvis Richard and Trudy Adams of Central Lafourche High School as well as Macie Camardelle and Tristen Plaisance of South Lafourche High School.
Kathy Luke, Head Coach at Riverside Academy will lead the River girls’ team and Damon Robinson, Head Coach at Thibodaux High School will lead the Bayou girls’ team. Yussef Jasmine, Head Coach at East St. John, will lead the River boys’ team, while Terrebonne High Head Coach Derek Szush will lead the Bayou boys’ team.
Tickets for the game are $5 and can be purchased at the gate. All Biddy Basketball players and Recreation League basketball players wearing league shirts will be admitted free into the event. All of the proceeds go to college scholarships and to Thibodaux Lion’s Club causes such as the Louisiana Lions Camp and Eye Foundation.
