Larose floodgate to close for 48 hours

Larose floodgate to close for 48 hours

This is a reminder that starting Saturday, March 21st, the Ted Gisclair “Larose” floodgate will close beginning at 7 a.m. and will remain closed for 48 hours while the gates are being reinstalled. This work is expected to take approximately five days to complete. During this time the contractors will open the bayou on the second night to help relieve boat traffic.

Extreme caution is advised when traveling through the floodgates. The captain should always proceed under the direction of the Lock Master. Any damages will become the responsibility of the boat owner.

Please be aware that whenever high tides occur, either or both floodgates may close at any time without notice.
