Relax with yoga at the Larose library: Relax with weekly yoga classes at the Larose Branch, 305 E. Fifth Street. Yoga classes centered on easy movements, exercising joints, and maintaining mobility are offered at 2 p.m. on Mondays and at 3 p.m. on Fridays at the library.

Learn to line dance at the South Lafourche library: Learn new line dances or practice old favorites weekly at the South Lafourche Branch, 16241 E. Main Street, Cut Off. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome to attend at 2 p.m. on August 1, August 8, August 15, August 22, and August 29.

Lafourche author to visit Raceland library: Lafourche author Peggy M. Bell will discuss inspiration for her books including Life After Loss For Widows: Lifting the Veil of Grief when she visits the Raceland Branch, 177 Recreation Drive, on August 5, at 11:30 a.m.

Say “goodbye” to summer with snow cones at the South Lafourche library: Enjoy the last day of summer before the start of school with snow cones, while supplies last, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on August 6 at the South Lafourche Branch, 16241 E. Main Street.

Lockport library offering ESL classes: Adults wanting to better their English language skills can attend the Lockport Branch’s “English as a Second Language” (ESL) classes. Learn basic English at the library, 720 Crescent Avenue, at 11 a.m. on August 7, August 14, August 21, and August 28.

Play back to school bingo at the Larose library: Children and teens ages 5 to 17 can play back to school bingo for a chance to win school supplies at 1 p.m. on August 7 at the Larose Branch.

Raceland library to host escape room: Children and teens can work together to solve the clues and break free in a video-game themed escape room at 4 p.m. on August 15 at the Raceland Branch.

Lockport library to host Senior Citizens Day Social: Local senior citizens are invited to visit with friends and have lunch at the Lockport Branch, while supplies last, at 12 p.m. on August 20 in celebration of Senior Citizen Month. After lunch, library staff will demo Tech-boomers, a website offering free tutorials on popular websites and apps.

Guest artist to host workshops at Raceland library: Local artist Azalea Rivet will host a series of arts and crafts workshops for people of all ages at 4 p.m. on August 7 and 4 p.m. on August 21 at the Raceland Branch.

Fly paper airplanes at the Gheens library: Test your skills in constructing paper airplanes and compete in a paper airplane contest in celebration of National Aviation Day at 4 p.m. on August 20 at the Gheens Branch, 153 N. Leon Drive.

Gheens library to host senior smoothie social: Senior citizens can enjoy social and a refreshing smoothie, while supplies last, at 11 a.m. on August 21 at the Gheens Branch, in celebration of Senior Citizens Day.
