The Lockport Branch Library, 720 Crescent Avenue, is asking for help in creating a video that features recreations of historic scenes and helps to tell the story of Lockport. Funded by the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation, this project will run for approximately four weeks, with sessions occurring twice weekly. The library is looking for help in all aspects of the video’s production. The first session will take place at 4 p.m. on August 2. Bring the family out for fun and fitness through music and skits at 4 p.m. on August 12 and August 26 at the Raceland Library. This program is open to people of all ages.
Level up by playing video games to make video games at the Lockport Library’s Emagination Mechanics workshops at 2 p.m. on August 13 and August 27. Try your hand at Gamestar Mechanics, Scratch, and others. Exceptional games will be considered for entry in the 2017 National STEM Video Game Challenge. To register, call the library or stop by.
Children ages 5 to 12 can learn to make tasty after-school snacks at the Lockport Library’s new monthly workshop After School Munch Bunch. During the library’s first workshop at 4 p.m. on August 15, make cookie ice cream sandwiches.
All senior citizens (ages 65 and over) will receive a small goody bag, while supplies last, at the Golden Meadow Library, on August 22 in celebration of Senior Citizens Appreciation Day.
