Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter to send pets “Home for the Holidays”

The Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter will once again host their annual campaign to place pets in “foster” homes for the holidays.

“Home for the Holidays” is set for Saturday, December 14th and will be open to the public from 9 a.m. till 12 noon.

All animals available for fostering can be taken home that day. Animals can be picked up as late as December 20th and can be returned on Monday, January 6th.

All foster homes will be required to fill out a foster/adoption application and leave a deposit fee of $15 for a male cat, $25 for a female cat, $30 for a male dog and $35 for a female dog. These fees will serve as the adoption fee if the foster family decides to keep the animal. If not, the fee will be returned when the foster family returns the animal to the shelter on January 6th.

Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph stated, “This is a wonderful program to place animals in homes, giving the families an opportunity to see if the pet fits with their family.”

Lafourche Animal Shelter is located at 934 Highway 3185, Thibodaux.
